Dental Insurance Kids – Need help to choosing dental insurance.
Question: I am working as contractor and do not have dental insurance. My kids (11 and 6) need to have some dental work done (cavities and crown). What dental insurance is best for private contractor like me? Any dental insurance that is good so that I can sign up to have my kids dental work done right away.
Reply: What would be best would depend on your dental care needs. However, when reviewing PPO’s you will want to make sure you choose one that dose not that have any waiting periods, since your children have current dental needs that need to be address. Those types of plans can be more costly but they do let you choose or keep your current dentist which may be important to you and your children.
Another option is an dental HMO insurance plans. HMO’s plans are a lower cost plans that are more affordable and typical do not have waiting periods. However, you have to choose a plan provider which means you may have to change dentist in order to pick a dental HMO insurance plan.
