Children teeth care, geting a pre teen to brush daily
For some reason my 12 year old is getting into the habit of not brushing. I tell her to brush after breakfast and she makes a fuss I guessing she is doing it since she goes to the bathroom. I do not always remember to tell her to brush after dinner but I feel I should not have to. However if I do not I know she does not. How can I get her to be more serious about her oral health care?

There are some real good videos on oral health care on line that you can find. Not only showing how to brush but all the things that can happen to your teeth if you do not brush. You can try scaring her straight.

Has you daughter ever had a cavity before? My teen son was the same way until he got is first cavity. It hurt him so much that when we got it fixed he never wanted to have another cavity and really started taking good care of his teeth.
No one wants to learn the hard way but sometimes that is the only way they will learn to take oral health care seriously.

Well you are right you should not have to tell a twelve year old to brush all the time. But sometimes you may not have a choice. I am not one for letting my kid get a cavity to learn that it is no fun.
I still telling my 15 year old to brush his teeth after dinner. Not all the time but when I notice he does not do so I remind him that he needs to.
