Dental insurance for kids, would getting an HMO dental plan be better then a discount plan
I am tossing between getting a dental HMO plan for family or getting a dental discount plan. I think cost wise for both are good. I need something that is low cost since I can not afford much right now. However not sure which is better to get. in your opinion is it better to get a dental insurance plan or a dental discoun plan?

When it comes down to the choice that will be up to you. I advise comparing the fee schedule the plans that each plan will have.
Also since on both plan types you need to go to only in network dental provider make sure you have a dentist that take the plan you are reviewing but that you called and confirmed that with the dentist before buying one.

It can depend on your dental needs. Such as if you want cosmetic services then a dental discount plan would give you saving for cosmetic where you normally do not have cosmetic dental coverages under an HMO dental insurance plan.
It will be the little difference that will may one plan better the the other for you. Not that a discount plan is better or worse then an HMO, PPO or even indemnity plans for that matter.

Well for me I like dental insurance and not dental discount plans. I just want to know that I am dealing with dental insurance companies that are regulated by state insurance departments.
Then some discount plan that is here to day and may be gone tomorrow. However, that said I know two people that have dental discount plans and they seem to be happy with them.
