Kids teeth care, my son is only six and needs two crowns for baby teeth
I would like some advise please. I took my six year old son to see a dentist. Now it has been about a year since he last seen a dentist because I was between dental insurance plans. The new dentist we went to see says he has two back molars that have very large cavities and should be filled and crowned in order to save the teeth
This seems like a lot of work for just one year absent from seeing a dentist. I take care of my son teeth and they were find only a year ago. Does this sound possible to you? Should I be tyring to get a second opinion?

Yes it is possible for your son to have cavities in just one year time. Just as possible that the prior dentist did not catch the cavities at the time because they may have been small.
It is not out of line with what the current dentist is saying but if you really do not believe them you can always get a second opinion.

Well I do not think that it is out of reason either but To be large cavities I would think your son would have told you if he had any dental pain like that.
If he his cavities are so big that they need to be crown then you would think he would have had some pain. At least to hot and cold food or something.
I think if it was me I would get a second opinion. Maybe just go back to our first dentist and pay out of pocket for his opinion. You seem to at least trust that dentist and then take it from there.

Well my son did get three cavities in a year time. And I too brushed his teeth just like I should and flossed. However, I came to find out my son just had weak too enamel on his baby teeth and had to get dental sealants.
You never know that way is so important to see the dentist at least twice a year instead of only once.
