Children Dental Insurance, Looking for a good dental insurance plan for my son

Friday, Jul. 16th 2010 9:48 AM

So I was reveiwing your plans you have quoted when I put my sons zip in.  I am a signal dad and my son lives with me for most of the year.  We are in TX and I would like to get a dental insurance plan for him since I do not get dental as a benifit from work.

I really do not care about the monthly cost as long as it is a good dental insurane plan that will be able to take care of any future dental needs my son may have.  It it helps to know he had really good teeth at this point in time.  Can you tell me your best plan is.

Kids dental care, Dental help for baby teething

Thursday, Jul. 15th 2010 8:02 AM

My son is five month old and I think he may be already teething.  This is both my husband and I first child, so we are not sure when a baby will normally start teething.  Though I am also sure my son is teething.

Can a five month old be teething so soon?  He has all the signs of teething.  If so should I take him to see a dentist for his teething issues or his doctor?  My husband says he is too young to see a dentist and I tend to agree with him.  But my son is up all night and most of the day upset and cranky.  Teething rings seem to big for him to handle yet.  Advise please.

Family dental insurance needed, Looking for a low cost dental insurance.

Wednesday, Jul. 14th 2010 9:58 AM

I have one son and two girls.  Between my husband job and mine we make do good enough.  However both our jobs only offer the health insurance and not dental.  Due to this we have not had dental insurance for some time.

That is not to say that we do not go to the dentist only that we have been paying out of pocket for all dental services.  I would now at this point like to get a family dental insurance  plan that is not going to cost us more then $50.00 a month or so.   Can you advise me on a low cost dental insurance plan?

Dental care for kids, Looking for a good dentist.

Tuesday, Jul. 13th 2010 9:24 AM

My three year old daughter will need to start going to the dentist.  My husband has a very good family dental insurance plan though work.  The problem is the dentist we see will not take any children under the age of six.

I asked my dentist for a referral but he did not have one.  How do I find my daughter a good child dentist?  Any helpful tips and or advise is welcomed.

Children teeth, What kind of aftercare is needed for a baby tooth extraction

Monday, Jul. 12th 2010 10:34 AM

My son who is five year old just had three baby teeth removed do to bad dental carries.  He was very good while the dentist  removed his teeth.  However when the dentist was done with the extractions my son really just wanted to go home.

Now I know I should have taken more time to ask the dentist about his aftercare but I was only thinking of my son at the time.  My son needs to go back to the dentist in a week to be fitted for space maintainers.

I guessing his gums will be heal by then.  But since I forgot to ask about the aftercare I am not really sure.  So  besides trying to keep his mouth clean is there anything else I should be doing for him?

Kids teeth care, What are dental sealants?

Sunday, Jul. 11th 2010 2:48 PM

Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings that are applied to the grooves on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to protect them from tooth decay.  Dental sealants are effective in preventing dental caries in the occlusal (chewing) and other pitted and fissured surfaces of the teeth.  Dental sealants were assessed in permanent molars (occlusal and buccal surfaces in lower molars and occlusal and lingual surfaces in upper molars), premolars (occlusal surface), and upper lateral incisors (lingual surface).

Dental sealants are highly effective in preventing dental caries that occur on the surfaces of teeth that have pits and fissures.  Dental sealants are usually applied in a dentist’s office.  Dental sealants last for 4-5 years and can easily be reapplied by your dentist when they do wear off.  Dental sealants represent one of the greatest, but least known advances, of modern dentistry.

Kids dental care, Do dental wipes really work for new borns

Sunday, Jul. 11th 2010 7:14 AM

My son is only two months old.  So right now he does not have any teeth.  My doctor told me I still need to wipe my son gums after each feeding so that he does not have extra milk in his mouth.  Then when he gets his teeth in I should take him to see a dentist.

So I have been doing as suggested to me by my doctor.  My friend told me about dental wipes and that is what she uses to clean her daughter teeth.  She said they work just like brushing but are easier to use when you are dealing with an infant.  I though you just brush the teeth when the start to come in.  Are dental wipes just as good?

Dental insurance for kids, Need free dental insurance

Friday, Jul. 9th 2010 6:48 AM

I have two children one that is six and one three year old.  Does anyone know where I  can find free dental insurance or free dental services.   I am not asking for me but for my two children.  I was told that children should be able to get free dental care but I do not know were.

I was very upset because when I got my job they told me I would also get health and dental after three months. However, that did not happen I only got medical no dental.  I live on a very fixed income so just paying my bills and rent can be hard for me.

So where can I take my kids to get free dental services?  Or dose anyone know of any dental insurance plan that would offer me free dental services that a course does not cost very much. Need help and good advise.

Children’s dental insurance, Looking for cheap dental insurance

Wednesday, Jul. 7th 2010 8:30 AM

I am in need of cheap dental insurance for my family dental needs.  I have my wife and two children that need their general  dental visits.   Between the four of us even just going in for our X-rays and cleaning get to be costly.

I am self employed so finding cheap dental insurance is necessary in order for me to afford  having it.  I am really just looking for something that can pay for the basic dental care for my family.  So far the dental insurance I found are quite expensive running anywhere form 90 – 120 a mouth.

California Dental Insurance For Kids, Affordable HMO dental insurance plans.

Tuesday, Jul. 6th 2010 6:38 PM

Affordable Dental Plans – HMO

Affordable dental insurance plans from an HMO may have a limited pool of dentist to select, but it is a more affordable insurance plan. If you are self employed and looking for a more affordable dental plan, a discount dental plan may be an alternative.

Discount dental plans are not dental insurance plans. A discount plan partners with dentists to provide customers with a savings on visits to the dentist office. The downside to discount dental plans is that they are not regulated and you have limited recourse if you experience dental plan problems.

Kids dental care, dental caries

Tuesday, Jul. 6th 2010 9:05 AM

I have a three year old boy.  Lately I started to notice  brown spots on three of his teeth. At first thought they may have been a bit of food and he was not brushing well. So  I started to bush his teeth but the spots are still there.

I made  a dental appointment for my son so I will be taking him to see the dentist about these spots in a few days. I am worried that my son may have dental caries though as a baby I never let him sleep with a baby bottle.  I also made sure he brushed his teeth each day.  What can these spots be if not cavities?

Dental for Children, four baby teeth with cavities.

Monday, Jul. 5th 2010 9:47 AM

So I just found out that my four year old son has four cavities in his baby teeth.  His dentist told me that they are small but filling should be done to avoid them getting bigger.  I told the dentist that I would need to talk things over with my husband and then get back with his office.

The truth of the matter is that I am a single mom, with no dental insurance.  My employer only pays for health insurance for my son and I. Up until now paying for my son’s dental needs were not an issue.

Do I really need to have filling done on my sons baby teeth.  After all given enough time his baby teeth are just going to fall out anyway.  I am asking this because having the filling done are going to be costly to me since I do not have a lot of extra money.

Children’s dental insurance, Need more dental insurance coverages.

Saturday, Jul. 3rd 2010 9:00 AM

Right now I am in the military and have Delta Dental insurance that is offer to my family and I. However, with the 1000.00 max limit per year it is just not enough coverage for my family dental needs.

I have already paid out over $700.00 worth of dental work for just my two sons.  Not counting my wife who has perfect teeth.   My sons have more dental work that is needed now and in the future. One of my sons may also need to have braces.  Not sure yet but the dentist will advise as his adult teeth start to come in.

I am wondering if there is any other dental insurance plans that I can get for my family’s needs that I would be able to combine with what I currently have.   I need to reduce my dental cost that my current Delta dental plan is not picking up.

Kids Dental care, Yellow baby teeth

Friday, Jul. 2nd 2010 8:54 AM

My son baby teeth are just not coming in but they have a yellowish look to them.  I am worried about the color of his teeth.  He had jaundice so I am wondering if that has anything to do with is current teeth color.

I been brushing his teeth twice a day were before I was doing it only once in hopes that would help remove the yellowish coloring.  It so far has not helped.   I am not sure if this his just his normal teeth coloring or if there is something wrong with his teeth.

Kids dental Insurance, Which dental insurance plan is right for my son?

Thursday, Jul. 1st 2010 7:41 AM

Right now I have dental insurance though work.  It is Delta Dental PPO.   My son is seven years old and in the pasted I have paid out of pocket for his dental needs.  Now that I have dental insurance though work I was thinking about adding him to my plan.

The thing is open enrollment is not until the end of the year.  So I was looking on line at the HMO dental insurance plans you offer that would be cheaper monthly for me then adding him to my current plan.  Can I sign up just my son on an HMO insurance plan?  Or should I just add him to my policy when I can?

Kids Dental, I have a eight year old still thumb sucking.

Wednesday, Jun. 30th 2010 6:32 AM

I am embarrassed  that my eight year old son is still sucking his thumb.  Because of his stupid habit I had to have the dentist give him teeth guard so that he does not push out his teeth.   Though I know he does not wear it all the time.

His dentist told me I need to get him to stop before his adult teeth really start coming in or he will need to have braces.   I am at lost as to what to do.  My son know better then to suck his thumb in front of me but he does it when my back it turned.

How do I get him to stop this behavior?  Advise is needed please.

Kids dental insurance, When is a good time to add your child to your dental insurance plan.

Tuesday, Jun. 29th 2010 2:36 PM

In order to determine the correct time to add your child to your dental insurance plan requires knowing just a few facts about your dental insurance.   If you have a new born and are not sure if you should add your child now or latter to your dental insurance plan.  Call the insurance company and ask them what their policy terms are for adding  additional household members.

Some dental insurance plans do not charge more for having another child,   if  you currently have their family plan.  Therefor,  you can add your child at any time without it effecting you premium cost.

With that being said if you have dental insurance for only you and or you and a spouse,  adding a child may make the cost of your insurance go up.  You may therefor what to wait until the child is older.  Doing that will help avoid any increases in the cost of your plan, until you  start taking your child to see the dentist.

Always check with your plan carrier to verify if you are subject to any enrollment or cut off dates.  That way you can make any necessary plan changes before the cut off period to avoid being out another year or policy term.
